2019 Mentorship Program feature

The 9th-annual mentorship program kicked off earlier this year, and our mentees are now halfway through the program! For the first half of the program, they worked with their Tier 1 mentors to develop a one-year career plan. They will soon begin working with their Tier 2 mentor before completing the program on May 4. Stay tuned for details on the mentorship graduation. 

This year’s mentees include: Winnie Tran (Hospitality), Jessica Caigoy (Accounting), Jesstin Estavillo (Mechanical Engineering), and Angela Terencio (Kinesiology). Learn more about them:

Winnie Tran
Winnie is a senior at CSN pursuing her associates in Hospitality. Winnie wants to learn more about the Hospitality industry and within a year, jumpstart her career. In the next three to five years, Winnie wants to work internationally for a global hospitality company. For the past month, Winnie has worked with her Tier 1 mentor, Serena Villamor of Indigo, on a 1 Year Career Plan that involves exploring the hospitality industry. 

Jessica Caigoy
Jessica is a Junior at UNLV pursuing a bachelor degree in Accounting. She is looking forward to learning how to brand herself within the program, and develop herself to become a leader within a company/ firm. She is also working on exploring how to lead a fulfilling and successful career while balancing her personal life. For the past month, Jessica has worked with her Tier 1 mentor, Bernard Bermudez of Nevada State Bank, on a 1 Year Career Plan that involves getting into the masters program at UNLV for accounting and interviewing for internships.

Jesstin Estavillo
Jesstin is a senior at UNLV pursuing a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. After graduating from UNLV, Jesstin wants to pursue a career in a company with a focus in Aerospace, Nuclear, or Energy Creation. Within the next three to five years, Jesstin wants to climb towards lower management. For the past month, Jesstin has worked with his Tier 1 mentor, Andy Kieatiwong of the Additive Rocket Corporation (ARC), on a 1 Year Career Plan that involves learning coding languages and completing a professional portfolio of his engineering projects.

Angela Terencio
Angela is a senior at UNLV pursuing a bachelor degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Spanish. Angela wants to learn how to be an effective leader in the community and build strategies to be more confident. In the next three to five years, Angela sees  herself serving low-income communities as an occupational therapist, and helping families and individuals gain their independence and life back from adversity. For the past month, Angela has worked with her Tier 1 mentor, Dr. Aczon-Armstrong of Roseman university, on a 1 Year Career plan.
