If you’re part of the leadership team focused on growing and keeping members motivated in your Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander-focused organization/club and have seen a decrease in membership or feeling stagnant, we have some tips on re-energizing your organization/club.
Work with Your Leadership Team on Annual Goals
It’s often important to plan realistic goals to make sure your leadership team feels like they’ve reached the “goal”. Consider creating 3-4 different goals ranging from memberships, external activities, and membership engagement.
After your goals have been agreed upon by your leadership team, set up calendar reminders mid-year to check the status of these goals.
Setting up mid-year check-ins is important to make sure your leadership team feels accountable and can access how realistic can the goals be completed with the remainder of the year.
Get Feedback from Current Members
If there’s a lack of interest in the direction your organization/club is going towards, take a pause and collect feedback from existing members.
Create a survey and allow members to rank your organization’s direction from meeting topics, goals, events, and leave several open-ended questions for your members to give general feedback.
Your existing members can provide valuable insights to figure out what initiatives excite them.
Once you’ve had time to review your member’s feedback, pivot your organization’s direction and see if your members’ excitement level has changed.
Partner with Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Community Organizations
If you’re noticing your membership benefits doesn’t seem enough to gain new members, research local non-profit organizations in Las Vegas that serve the AANHPI community (Hint hint, you should talk to OCA since you’re already on the website).
There may be partnership opportunities that would benefit your members and also the Las Vegas-based non-profit organization.
Become An OCA Member
